I’ve been blogging full-time for almost a year now and learned early on that every day is different. Whether I’m shooting a campaign, travelling, or putting looks together, I can honestly say that no day is like the other. However, there are a few things that I need to get done on a weekly basis that I would share and show you a day in the life of a blogger!
But first, coffee.
Whether you’re a coffee drinker or prefer tea there’s nothing like kicking off the morning with a little caffein, am I right?? Lately, I’ve been loving the selections that Costa Coffee has to offer. If you’re not familiar, Costa blends are available at Shell with select stations having an amazing Costa Coffee machine that offers 250 different flavour combinations- making it perfect for anyone on the go! I was lucky enough to have been introduced to the brand at a fun cafe pop up shop last month in Calgary, but more on that later…
Now that we’re caffeinated it’s time to scout out the perfect location for some outfit photos. This is something I do on the regular whether I’m driving to a meeting or to the grocery store I am always on a hunt for new spots to shoot. I definitely have my go to locations here in Edmonton but it’s always fun to find a new one and TBH, it’s even a little inspiring!
Today I was looking for more of an industrial look which made heading downtown the perfect spot. I typically look for certain things like a neutral background or something with a city view that gives the photo a little bit of dimension, but today this charcoal staircase fit the bill.
Point & Pose.
Once we find the location it’s time to get down to business and start shooting. I’m definitely no model, but I have gotten more comfortable in front of the camera over the years. I really wish I could look all cool and moody with my poses but that just isn’t me. Whenever me and Josh are shooting together I can’t help but laugh and smile.
When the lighting is right I really try and get the most out of the day while it lasts so once the outfit photos are done I’ll usually make my way to a bakery or floral shop to pick up some fun props for flatlays. We all know the importance of Instagram so I try my best to get creative and share some fun content on that platform which is why props are always a must!
Once the sun goes down and the natural light is gone it’s time to edit all of the above and start sharing- my favourite part!
As I mentioned earlier I had the pleasure of heading down to Calgary for a Costa Coffee pop up shop! Although the event was hosted in a Shell station you honestly could never tell as they rearranged the entire store, putting up an amazing Costa Coffee graffiti wall, serving pastries, and even bringing in Canadian artist Ruben Young. I learned a lot about the brew while I was there and that the cha latte’s with a hint of vanilla are absolutely delicious!

Hope you enjoyed today’s post and thanks for following me along for the day!
This post was brought to you in partnership with Shell Canada’s new Costa Coffee. As always, all opinions are my own. Enjoy a perfect cup of Costa Coffee at a location near you: http://bit.ly/2kkIr09
