Finding a balance between practicality and staying stylish during the winter can be a bit of a challenge. Between heavy coats to bulky accessories like beanies and scarves, is there any hope? I’m here to tell you, there definitely is!
I’ve lived in Alberta my whole life and as many fellow Edmontonians will know, we’ve had our fair share of harsh winters over the years. It’s during those times that you just want to bundle up and hide beneath a layer of down filled coats which I totally get! But luckily times have changed when it comes to winter fashion and brands have stepped up their game. Coats no longer have to make you look like the abominable snowman and footwear that will actually add to your outfit as opposed to stick out like a sore thumb! It’s all about finding the right pieces to invest in that you can keep on rotation throughout the winter months.
One piece that is definitely worth the investment is a casual winter boot! I picked up these suede lined booties from Le Château and they instantly reminded me of Timberlands, a boot that I’ve always admired but never thought I could pull off. I decided to just go for it and brought these bad boys to the mountains the other weekend and let me tell you, they hardly left my feet! I was surprised at how many outfits they go with and the fleece lining kept my toes oh so warm.
I would say these boots fall on more of the masculine side which is why I decided to add a feminine touch to my look with pops of blush. Another easy thing you can do to add a cozy factory to any boot is add a pair of fun socks like the fleece pair I’m wearing.
Style tip: If you’re ever in need of some style inspo Pinterest is always my go to place (and of course my blog, shameless plug)! Are you following me on there? I don’t pin often but am thinking of getting more into it with the holidays in full swing so feel free to follow along.
Stay warm friends!
