Warning: today’s post will probably make you extremely hungry and make you want to run out to The Rec Room location, sorry not sorry!
If I could pick my favourite meal of the day, hands down, it would be brunch! It’s the perfect combo of delicious breakfast food and lunch, but the best part? You don’t have to wake up at 8am to eat which let’s be real, is the best!
I’ve had my fair share of brunch menus along the way but the other week we had the chance to try out The Rec Room West Edmonton Mall’s brunch from their restaurant THREE10 and OMG, it did not disappoint! Their menu was seriously so delicious that we pretty much had to order over half of it just so we could try a little bit of everything.
If you have the chance to make your way over there, which I don’t see why you wouldn’t, be sure to start off with an order of their Buttermilk Biscuits. They come out warm and are served with fresh strawberry jam and my favourite, vanilla-honey butter! Umm yum! We also ordered a basket of smashed potatoes because carbs are life and to feel a little better about ourselves we ordered one granola, berry and yogurt parfait which was really refreshing. Are you guys hungry yet??
Besides the delicious food, one of the perks of eating at The Rec Room, is that you can collect SCENE points! All you have to do is show your SCENE card to earn 1 SCENE point for every $1 you spend on food, beverages (non-alcoholic), gaming and entertaining, less taxes and gratuities. Such a great deal for all my fellow game players and movie goers!
Ok, back to the food. We went out for brunch with a couple of our friends and it’s always great when you’re close enough to share your food, am I right!? We all love pizza and tried out THREE10’s breakfast version called The Beast Pizza Alla Uovo. It had all the fixings with delicious toppings from fennel sausage, arugula, roasted tomato, and an oven baked egg to top it off.
I decided to try something new and ordered their Eggs In Purgatory. I know, you’re probably wondering what the heck is that!? It’s two skillet poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce. If you like savoury this dish would definitely be for you! My suggestion, if you have the will power, would be to save a buttermilk biscuit to soak up all the spicy tomato goodness- it’s truly a delicious combo!
Typically after a meal with friends we all say our goodbyes and head our separate ways but not at The Rec Room! They have so many amazing games to play that we definitely took advantage of. They have a huge arcade room filled with all the classics and a ton of new ones that were so fun to try out. They also have ping-pong, which Josh and I can get a little competitive with, as well as pool, and shuffleboard. If you love games I’ll fill you in on a little tip! They’re all half price on Sundays and Tuesdays until January 4th ;)
One might think that planning a brunch outfit would be low on the priority list but for me, it’s something I don’t mess around with! I know that I’ll probably eat way too much so I like to plan ahead and keep my outfit comfy. These moto pants from Zara might not look like they have a ton of breathing room but they actually have amazing stretch which is always key.
This winter has been extremely mild for us which means I’ve been able to get away without wearing a coat. Say what!? It’s been super refreshing which is why I let this cozy sweater do all the talking. I love the off the shoulder vibes and that it has enough room for my soon to be food baby. Yep, priorities.
I think it’s safe to say that thanks to The Rec Room, my love for brunch is still going strong! I can’t wait to continue going there with friends and family and not only eat some delicious food but challenge them all in a round of Mario Kart afterwards. My fave!
Thanks to The Rec Room for the yummy brunch invitation and giving us the opportunity to create some amazing memories along the way!
